About us
The Odumehaje Christian Medical Mission (OCMM) is a faith-based, non-governmental, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of underprivileged individuals in rural, hard-to-reach, and underserved communities in Nigeria and beyond. Our mission is to provide access to quality healthcare, essential services, and the message of hope to those who need it most.
Our Commitment
Despite growing demands for our services, OCMM remains committed to strategic planning, innovation, and collaboration to expand our reach and capacity. We continue to seek partnerships and resources that will enable us to serve more communities, improve healthcare infrastructure, and transform lives through both medical interventions and the message of hope.
At OCMM, we believe that every life matters, and we are devoted to ensuring that even the most disadvantaged individuals receive the care and support they deserve.

Our Story
OCMM was born out of a vision received by Dr. Paul Odumu, our Founder and Executive Chiarman, in April 1998. In a dream, he saw himself standing on a podium in a primary school in Odumehaje community, sharing the message of God’s love with a gathering crowd while local youths helped distribute Bible leaflets from him. This profound experience deepened his lifelong passion for serving others, particularly the sick and the hopeless.
As a medical student, Dr. Paul spent his holidays attending to sick individuals in his village, offering free medical care with the little knowledge he had. This passion grew into action when, in December 1998, he and his wife, Martha, a Registered Nurse, embarked on their first mission to Odumehaje community. Initially focused on evangelism, they began visiting the community monthly to teach God’s word and provide capacity-building programs.
In 2004, while training in Family Medicine at Evangel Hospital (now Bingham University Teaching Hospital) in Jos, Nigeria, Dr. Paul was encouraged by a mentor to integrate medical missions into his outreach efforts for greater impact. However, due to financial constraints, the first medical mission did not take place until 2006, when he and his team provided free healthcare to the six villages of Odumehaje community. Over time, what began as a small effort funded by his family grew into a larger initiative, with support from friends and well-wishers enabling more frequent medical missions and monthly follow-ups.
In 2012, OCMM was officially incorporated as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria, solidifying its commitment to providing sustainable healthcare and humanitarian aid.
